About Gerry O'Connor & Son
40+ years painting homes and businesses in Dundalk, Co. Louth.
Gerry O'Connor picked up a paintbrush over 40 years ago and never put it down.
He started painting houses around Dundalk as a young man, learning the trade the way it should be learned - by doing the work. Filling every crack. Sanding every surface. Masking every edge. Cleaning up every evening. No shortcuts, because shortcuts come back to haunt you in six months when the paint starts flaking.
Now his sons work alongside him. The business hasn't changed much in four decades, and that's the point. The O'Connors still believe in the same things Gerry believed in on day one: show up when you say you will, do the work you quoted for, and leave the house cleaner than you found it.
How We Work
We Answer the Phone
Call us and you'll speak to Gerry or one of his sons. Not a receptionist, not a call centre, not a voicemail that nobody checks.
We Show Up When We Say We Will
If we say Monday morning, we mean Monday morning. Not "sometime this week." Not "we'll get to you." Monday morning.
We Do the Prep Properly
We fill, sand, prime, and clean before we paint. Every time. That's not a selling point - it's the minimum standard for a job that lasts.
We Leave the Place Spotless
Dust sheets down, furniture covered, floors protected. At the end of every day, you can use your home normally. When the job's done, you won't find paint on the light switches.

The O'Connor Family
This is a family business in every sense. Gerry built the reputation. His sons carry it forward. The knowledge of 40 years - which surfaces need which primer, how Dundalk's coastal air affects exterior paint, which colours actually work in Irish light - doesn't come from a course. It comes from doing the work, year after year, in the same place.
The red van has been a fixture on Dundalk roads for as long as most people can remember. That's the kind of reputation you don't build with advertising. You build it with work.
Get in Touch
If you've a painting job you'd like to discuss, give Gerry a call. There's no obligation, no pressure, and no salesman - just a painter who'll tell you what needs doing and what it'll cost.
